'The Potter's Wheel' - Isaiah 45: 9-25 followed by a picnic on Corstorphine Hill. If wet, picnic at 127!
Keep a space in your diary for this date. The Vestry, in a continued effort to keep on top of the finances of Emmanuel, have set this day aside as a 'Day of Prayer and Giving.' At present we face a deficit of £3845 at the end of the year September 2006-September 2007, and find ourselves in a place of needing to pray towards a gift day in order to hep us to address this difficulty in the life of the church. We may still be able to use the Area Council as a helper in paying our Quota to the diocese, but feel strongly that this is a running cost of our church which we need to plan to meet. Please give this your prayer and thought over the next weeks and months, and plan to be part of this day. More details will follow. Please hold the Vestry and the treasurer in your prayers. Willie.
